Wow- bravo. I've wanted to see someone do this for a LONG, LONG time.
I especially wanted to see it since I knew the Lincoln clock has a white background and the rest of the Fusion is green. I thought that it wouldn't work, but looking at the pics it seems like it would work. The clock seems to stand out more, which is actually a good thing IMO.
I think that clock looks great, too bad I have the I4 with the FUSION emblem there. But, I wouldn't want to install the clock because of the "Lincoln" name inside of it. It would bother me. I like to install stuff the looks different, but original.
Since the clock costs 90 bucks through the dealer, I'm not going to do it. BUT - if they do decide to make a classy looking clock in the future, I'm going to have to get it.
This is alot of talk about a..................................CLOCK? Who needs to tell time?
Also, someone on this thread said cheap is............no undercoating? Cars today do not need undercoating. That was something dealerships pushed 20 years ago to "up" their bottom line and make more money on a sale from some unsuspecting dipshit. Then they said to keep the undercoating warranty in effect you had to bring it in every 6 months and have it reapplied foe $100. They took my grandparent to the bank on that one! (and yes, I technically called my grandparent a dipshit)
The clock is just another example of how Ford went very cheap when it did not have to. Metal hands on the clock would have gone a long way. I said "cheap is no undercoating" because, after the advent of the dealer undercoating scam, cars were factory undercoated, at least the ones I purchased. So now what I see is some undercoating, lots of plastic shields and lots of bare metal in between! The undercoating no only protects better (IMO) but also helps quiet the ride. Perhaps the plastic is lighter but it leaves unprotected areas and also dirt, water and mud can get behind the plastic and sit there staying moist longer. I do not like it, but that's just my opinion. If more people care to chime in we should start a new thread.
I am going to suggest an after market clock; not for the SE and SEL, but for the S/I4!!! I hate that "FUSION" logo there. People don't need to be reminded that there are RIDING IN a Fusion, only that they are GETTING IN a Fusion (I hope you all get that ) I would like to see at least a nice digital clock that would fit in that slot.
I keep thinking well, eventually they're going to have to redo the clock, aren't they? But, then I remembered that in a couple of years, all the Ford instrumentation inside its vehicles is going to be blue, so I guess there goes that thought.
I personally like the FUSION face and have received complements on how good the center dash looks.
IMO analog clocks only look good against real wood like Stained oak or cherry wood. I also think that they should be slightly larger to look good. all just my opinion.
So what kind of wiring is going to the SEL clock? What’s to stop someone with an S or SE from getting the dash trim from an SEL?
I’m personally not the biggest fan of the faux carbon fiber and the Fusion logo at center dash, but couldn’t justify the added cost of the SEL for a few cosmetic differences (some of which I don’t care for, like the chrome fog light bezels). A piano black center dash with clock would look sweet in my SE.

Did anyone ever find out if the wiring is already there? I'll be taking my fusion in for a few rattles in the door panel this week(and some strange "tick" noise from behind the instrument cluster), and I'd like to purchase the wood grain panel from the Milan and clock from the SEL.
Can't see the pics on here, but just wanted to tell ya I love the clock. My wife calls it my "Pimp Clock". I Dunno, but I love her she's goofy as hell.
To prove the old addage that if one person ASKS the question, other ppl in the room may have been THINKING it......
I think the SE is the best family car value. The 5 spoke 16's don't look dorky. I said it. I've got an Oxford White model with the SE trime and sweet black tint. The car is a well ballanced vision of white/black/and them silver wheels. This made me think the car looked better than the SEL. (yup... i said that too)
However, the fake carbon fiber looks pathetic. It's okay in the all black interior. It can slide. But not in the other set ups.....
Anyway, I've been checking everything from my fellow forum members' wood kits to the different trim pieces from FoMoCo.
I got the Piano Black piece for $50.00 from online, and then I got the SEL clock for $30.00 online also.
I will tell you this: The Piano Black piece looks sweet as H*LL in the medium light stone/tan interior. It's not a perfect factory match.... but the carbon fiber didn't actually match ANYTHING anyway.
Problem is, the old SEL clocks actually are as terrible as this thread originally implied. This suckers plastic hands really look like they're from a badly made, lead-paint-covered toy. And since I'm in this deep, I will be sending it back for the better clock. Holy jeez, this thing is lame. I used to think it couldn't look THAT bad. It looks like it came out of a bubble gum machine.
Further more, the d*** thing has a little "socket" on the back, so I'm prolly gonna look into getting the harness to fit in whatever clock goes there. Cause it doesn't look as simple as any one makes it sound to "splice into the SE interior".
Oh yeah.... and when I went to pull the clock apart (it "looks" simple to take apart) to check for splicing options, one of the d*** tabs broke off of it. So yeah...
There's my "ODE to the crummy dash clock". With any luck this thread will hit six pages. ha ha ha
....one more worthless tidbit. I don't mind the Fusion logo at all. It reminds me of an old Buick Regal I had. When you turned on the dash lights, a logo lit up on the dash in blue. My friends loved it. I laughed.
