So my Fusion has been throwing a p2196 code for sometime now. I've erased the code and even replaced the upstream o2 sensor. After I replaced the sensor and erased the code, it came back on later that day. 2010 Fusion 2.5L. Please Help:shocked:

Thanks,
Taylor F.

Thanks for the reply. It seems that this subject tends to scare some folks on account of it having over 80 views and only one reply haha. Anyways, I don't think its a bad injector because I'm still maintaining good gas mileage. No rough idle either. I ordered a new vapor purge valve to see if does the trick. :0

If you have a smartphone, get a bluetooth obd adapter and the app Torque. You can data log and see if the sensor is working, could be a bad harness or connection too.

for sure check the external wiring. i work on fords and i know how easy their wiring gets corroded.

if it were actually running rich it would have a bank 1 rich code, not a stuck code.

just triple check all the wiring.

Did this work?
Hi Avery. In the reply before yours, the OP stated that replacing the "vapor purge valve" solved his issue.

Hopefully someone may answer. However, just want to point out that the last reply in this thread was ~6 1/2 years ago.

Good luck.
