Wow. I must do this now.

did you have to do anything to the OEM mirror for the LEDs to show through properly? What kind of LEDs did you get? Nevermind, just saw the eBay link.

The OEM mirrors are transparent enough for the LED to show through. And the mirrors MUST be OEM factory mirrors. I learned that the hard way.
The hardest part is removing the glass mirror from the plastic it is mounted to. It has to be heated, and you MUST take your time pulling the glass from the adhesive pad.

Cool, are yours heated? I hope they haven't changed (much) for the 2010->

No, they aren't heated. If yours are heated, I think all you would have to do is peel the heating pad (whatever it is called) away from the back of the glass only far enough to place the LED to the surface and reapply the pad. Here is a pretty good video of the installation of the LED with a heated mirror.

I am loving this mod, but not as much as my kids though. They smile and say how pretty it is when I use them.

 oh to be young again eh? Kids find joy in the simplest of things. When I asked my wife if I could do this mod to the car, she kinda sighed and said hmmm... so I think I'll take that as a yes!

Her view is, as long as it doesn't void a warranty its ok. This I'm sure will void the warranty on the mirrors, but meh. It looks nice, adds some style to the car, and increases safety! Giggdy!

It does take some time to do. The heating and removing the glass is the worse part. I can't stress enough to take your time pulling the glass from the adhesive pad.

Do it on a set from the wreckers. That way if you screw up, you haven't FUBAR'd your mirrors

I want to do it so bad but there is one mod in the way....the pay off mod. That one HAS to be done this summer, so its no mods for me till Ford no longer owns part of my car. But I do think that there might be another way if you have a very steady hand and patience, if you just cut through the plastic (NOT THE ADHESIVE) then with a razor blade slowly scrape the extra adhesive out of the way. But I have yet to try it out myself so I am not too sure how good it will work.

Actually, I think that would take longer and be more messy. That adhesive pad is pretty stiff when cooled. I think the heat gun method is the best, if not the only, way to get it done.
