I have a box in the trunk w/2 Boston Acoustics 10' and it has more than enough boom. My next step it to dynamat the entire trunk to stop all the extra rattles. (not that there's that many)

What do you have in your trunk?

I'll post pictures later.

Do yourself a favor and don't use dynamat. I've been researching sound deadning materials for nearly 6 years for my other cars and ran across a compnay by the name of SecondSkin (http://www.secondskinaudio.com/). Their products are less expensive then the national brand names but a lot better. I am allergic to a lot of different stuff and the styrene-butyadine found in most deadning materials made me rather sick. I've had absolutly no problems with any of the SecondSkin products and they do a phenomenal job of removing standing waves. If you do a little research on the larger car audio forums you will see that others also agree.

I've seen your ride on cardomain.com. I've got a 12" JL Audio box in the trunk with an MTX D210 amp (dyno'd at 300W). I'm old (36) and listen to mostly classic rock and 80's hair band (Motley Crue rules) with the occasional hip hop tune. I like the tight, controlled thump of a sealed box. I bet the neighbors can hear you coming.

May be OT, but where would I run the power wire from the battery to get to my trunk? I tried to find a way by taking off the cover over the driver side wheel, but I couldn't find a way to get the wire to the battery.......any help would be appreciated. Oh, I have an SEL V6 w/Audiophile.

TIA

Cold Fusion, my amp wire goes through the firewall behind the battery. From the inside, it goes through above the carpet, behind the brake pedal. I assume this hole was there all along, but I didn't look before the guys at Tweeter installed my amp and sub. The firewall is really the most difficult part, after that, it's just running the wires under the carpet by the doors, under the back seat and into the trunk.

I have a SEL V6 with the premium audio, not audiophile, but I'm sure the wiring is similar. I had them add a speaker level to line level converter prior to the sub, as they felt it provided better sound quality. If you take it to a reputable shop, they can do it with no problem. If you do it yourself, just be patient and start in the engine compartment and work your way back. Most of the amp wiring fuses won't fit through the firewall. Also, check Crutchfield as they have lots of wiring diagrams to go by. Good luck- it's worth the effort to add a sub and amp.

Well I haven't actually hooked these subs up in my fusion yet, but I did have them in my old Ford Escape. We can just say that the neighbors didn't really like me when I rolled through our neighborhood at midnight or later. :D I am planning on getting my subs hooked up really soon and then the neighbors will not like me again!

Thanks Ming! I saw that piece of rubber behind the brake pedal with a white plastic cap behind it (I figured that's how you would get through). I also figured I would have to remove the battery, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the advice!

I have got two Kohl Audio 12's in the back. Powered with a 1000 Watt Lanzar Amp.
Trust me, I have to much "boom" I hear a ringing in my ears after just one song when at max!
