Has anyone actually run out of gas?  If so how many miles/Km's did the car travel once the info center said 0 till empty.  Just curios cuz mine now says zero.  This is just an interested to know question.  Has anyone out there installed the clear BRA on the front end of the car.  If so your comments wiould be greatly appreciated.

Can't help you on running out of gas, but my experience is that you have more than the DTE says (Ford doesn't want you running our of gas due to their computer). As for the clear bra- DON"T buy one from ebay. I had a professionally installed one on previous car and it worked great. So I thought I would try one for $25 from a dealer on ebay. It wasn't cut well and did not work. I complained and he sent me another- same result. I think the clear bra is a good thing- especially if you travel a lot or need a lot of protection due to road conditions. However, I would pay the extra $$$ and have it done professionally.

I HAD to continue running my car, as there was no gas station in sight... I was crossing all my fingers and toes. I went about 25 additional miles and filled up with only 16 gallons.

Yeah that sounds about right.

Note:

Also if you notice. If you fill up every 1/4 of a tank. When you look how many miles you can go it may say 380 miles.

However if you fill up when you have between 0 - 30 miles till empty, the computer will say it can go over 400 miles!

So it is just always a learning process for a computer.

For us old timers, who would have ever thought that the words 'So it is just always a learning process for a computer' to be spoken about your car? :D

But your mile to go to empty are based on the last MPG's from the previous fill so they will very depending on that. JMT

Lol. I'm a younging, and I know the difference between the older cars and now the new ones with all the computers. I remember my 93 F-150 with the float in the gas tank, and whenever I would slam on the breaks or hit the gas hard I would either be empty or full lol. I loved that truck!

Here is the link to my old truck that I miss dearly!

I'm crying looking at it, lol. Best first car a kid could have.
Put a little bed mattress in the back for you know what. The seat was one piece so the girl and guy
could move together and get real close. Windshield was huge for the drive in movie theater.
Bazooka tube under the seat. Dual exhast that sounded like a mountain liion roaring when I got on it.
Damn i miss it. If gas prices didn't go up I would still have that thing.
Got pulled over for the first time in it! Woohoo. Lol

Ok I'm done.

well i thought i could make it to the gas station i always hit on 401 and there was a strong head wind and a ton of rain. My computer said i could make it at first but then i kept my eye on it and my millage was dropping like crazy. Anyways i got to a station and the computer said i had 10 kilometers to go and i put 62 liters in the 66 liter tank.
so i would say the computer is pretty close.

Looks like it's within 40 Km's. How many Km's / tank do you get? I have the SEL 6 and it fluctuates like crazy. I've had as many as 580 and now I'm running about 500 with 3800 Km's on the car. ?????
