Hey, my horn stop working!  It only works about 40% of the time.  First noticed it when I was locking the doors.  Now it hardly ever works execpt when at the dealer.  Seems restarting the car resets the horn.  Hopefully I'm not starting a string of electical/computer issues.

:dunno:

Anyone else with a horn issue?

Mine works great. I tried my horn out today while on the road and to wake-up a fella co-worker (yeah, I am nice :rick: ) when my car was just turned off for 1-minute and it worked great. I did notice that when the electrical is completely shut-off and the alarm engages no electrical works. Otherwise when the car is fully powered and alarm is disengaged it is fully operational. Beep! Beep! :csweeney:

Mine works fine... I accidentally hit the panic button on the my key pod last week (in my garage)...
I don't like the pod on the key, I always have to look to find the right button. I am glad I have the puddle lamps in my mirrors, so I can see the stupid buttons on my key in the dark... 8)

When does it not work? Is it only when setting the alarm or is it with the alarm and horn pad on the steering wheel?

randomly stops working. sometimes when I lock the doors with the key and SOMETIMES while driving. I got cut off and press the honk to show my displeasure and nothing, notta, no sound at all. Happens about 60% of the time.

Why should I have to deal and look for faulty ground wires....dealer needs to do that!!!!

You know what I'ld be tempted to try? :) Not that it would work, but sometimes I just get into a mood.

Sir, its intermittent and doesn't work much. You guys are the specialists, so you guys need to look into all the stuff that could be causing this. If you make me do it, and I find it, I'm gonna charge you $50/hr for the time I've spent.

You are right but beware, intermittent electrical issues can be a hair puller, even for the dealer. If it quits completely, that would be the best-case scenario.
The dealer is a new thing with me that I guess I have to remember. I have been turning wrenches all my life and I better readjust my thinking.
Anyway, if you want to get adventurous, there is a ground wire for both horns and if that’s not it, there is a smart junction box with a non-removable horn relay in it, with logic control. They may have to replace it.

I wish you well!

Beater trucks usually look something like this:

They are great around a farm cause you don't care nothing for how they look .. drive around with tposts on the hood, pull baling wire out of the back even it its scrapping across the fenders ..
