I have a 2011 Ford Fusion with a 2.5 SE the 8th VIN number is an a I would like to know if the engine out of a 2012 2.5 with the 8th digit being a will interchange without any problems ?

There should be no issues swapping in the 2012 engine into your 2011. They should be the same.
