I am new to the Ford Fusions. I have wanted one so bad since they came out, and last week, I finally got the chance to buy a used '06 with high miles. It has the 2.3 and is a stick-shift. It is in so-so shape, but I am confident that it will be a decent vehicle for my family of 4 in short time.

My wife and I now have an '07 Mazda5, an '03 F150 Supercrew, and now the '06 Fusion to meet our day to day transportation needs. I have driven mostly Ford vehicles throughout my life, and for the most part, I just like the way the engineers think. I am a loyal Ford customer.

Our truck sees the majority of the work in our household; towing, trips to building supply stores, and a lot of winter driving in heavy snows. The Mazda5 is my wife's primary vehicle though. It hauls the kids to school and to childcare, and gets her to work at her part-time job. My Fusion will be my primary car for transportation to and from work and school for my Electrical and Millwright apprenticeship classes.

I am looking forward to getting to know some of you, and getting to know these cars better as well. Thanks for being here!

Still loving this Fusion, but it's getting pretty rusty underneath. I might have to look for a replacement soon. The 2.5 engine I swapped, and the original manual trans are still going strong. It's got 232,000 miles on it now.

Good run, too bad the rust is what takes it out. Escapes of that year range are really susceptible to rust issues, not seen many reported issues for Fusions. I hope to get close to those miles with my 2012, but honestly I don't drive it enough, it got 6,000 miles in the last 3 months only because it was our only vehicle for a while, othewise it usually gets 5,000 miles for the entire year. I live in the desert southwest so rust is not an issue for me, clear coat if a car sits in one place too long and trim sagging is about it.
