Getting Some TSB's taken care of...

5399 Views 37 Replies 16 Participants Last post by  TheRussian
Left my Fusion at the dealer @ 7am... meanwhile got a Focus as a loaner car... BOY, WHAT A DIFFERENCE.
They didn't want to give me the loaner car since I don't have the extended warranty... but thank to the fact that I have my connections at the Upper Ford management, I heard a different answer within minutes.. hehe

I reported the following problems:

TSB 06-21-11 (PCM Calibration Update)
TSB 06-18-14 (Floor Mat Wear)
TSB 06-23-12 (Automatic Transmission Whine)
TSB 06-21-9 (Radio Static)

Plus, it seems that whenever I go over a bump, my driver's seat will make some sort of a squeaking noise... so they will check that out as well..

..We'll see what happens, I'll be sure to keep you guys posted.

P.s.
I hope they'll be done with it today before 2pm... I start missing my baby.

Well... I had to leave my baby over at the dealership over night because I had to go to school and then work.

My Service advisor told me that they didn't have the replacement floormats and didn't have the fix for the tranny whine and will have to order it therefore I'll have to come back at a later on time to get everything done.

Btw, is anyone having problems with the driver's side seat buckle lock? I'm having problem unbuckling myself ... I have to forcely push the botton to get it to come out... anyone else with a similar problem?
Haven't noticed but mention it before you pick up the car so they can order that too. It's a safety issue.
I'll be sure to tell them about it when I pick it up so they'll order it with the other things they were going to order... thanks.
DUDE!! I got my fusion back today... BOY, WHAT A DIFFERENCE..
I mean the throttle response is way better than what it used to be.. and the car seems to pull harder too...WOOW!!!
the cruise control works so no problemos at all...

I'm one happy camper!!! :klavergreg:

As far as the belt buckle.. they said they'll take a look at it once I'll come back for the parts that they've ordered - floor mats and the transmission whine fix.
Did they fix the driver seat squeaking thingie? What was it? I'm having the same problems with my PASSENGER side seat whenever someone more than 100 pounds sits in it and its driving me frickin' crazy. I have put white grease into the joints on the sides of the seat and got no improvement. My sound is more apparent whenever I floor it or just accelerate harder than a grandma.

Yeah, they've fixed it... I dunno what they have done... but i tried to do it all to recreate the same sound and nothing... the noise is GONE..

Drive up to the dealership.. they WILL have to fix it under warranty... Good luck.
Much KUDOS to my man CiscoFord23.......

I just got the PCM/TCM recal. TOTALLY DIFFERENT CAR!!!!

* Much improved throttle response.... 110% better.
* and like the RUSSIAN said ........ Much improved "Pull" as well....

boy you can really tell the difference from a standstill "PUNCH"..........
Thanks...I agree it's like a different car. My wife doesn't drive like me so she really couldn't tell until I had her get on the throttle...she as like WOW what did you do to it? Awesome!
I made my appointment for December 2nd for the "PCM Calibration Update". That's when my new floor mats will be in. I hope this will make a difference.
Mine's going in Monday for 15k service and I'm going to get the PCM reflash and fix the popping noise in the dash. Has anyone else had the popping noise fixed? Reading the TSB makes me a little nervous- I hope I get a get tech that doesn't screw up my dash.
Good luck. Did you mention the TSB for the popping noise? I doubt they have the parts in stock to do the repair so they will have to order them. I would have them order the parts ahead of your visit and save you a trip.
It's so nice!
Weeks after getting my PCM updated, I'm still loving the difference it made.
plus it made my exhaust sound a lil better too!
I can't wait to see the defference when I'll order/recieve the X-Cal2 tuner... WoooO!!!
My car was there over night and they gave a Taurus SE boy oh boy how did the ever sell these things very uncomfortable HUGE gaps in the dash near the doors sloppy handeling oh man did i miss my fusion. Big difference after the re cal. made my exhaust sound better also.

You need to post some sound clips on!! show off what you got..!
I must have bad luck. At anyrate I took mine in and of course they had issues with the reflash, I didn't get a chance to catch the service advisor but it sounds as if the reflash did not take properly. So I'm stuck in a Saturn Ion till Friday.
That sucks. Unfortunately things like that can happen especially if its someone not used to doing reflashes on newer vehicles.
Well I took my car to the dearlership I bought it from to get the PCM Calibration Update, and I almost didn't get my car back.

There was some sort of problem with reading the computer. They kept getting an error message. SO I told them to put it back the way it was and I'd bring it back on another day when they figured out what the problem was. I was told, "We can't do that, the computer wont reset. It keeps trying to read the code." I kinda feel bad for the poor lady behind the counter, I think I might have made her poop her pants from yelling like a nutcase.

They tried to give me a P.O.S. focus as a rental car until Monday. Anybody that knows me, knows I'm a major prick when it comes to my car. When I made my appointment with the servece manager on Nov. 21st, the guy never wrote it down. So I caleed the dealer yesterday morning before dropping it off. The lady was like, "I'm sorry sir, you name is what? You don't have an appointment written down for us." Right there should have been my first clue. After some fumbling around, she told me to bring the car in and they would still do it. I was told it would take 45 minutes to do. After waiting there for 3 hours, I aske to talk to the person that had the most authority there. Very nice guy.......after about me chewing him a new one for ten to fifteen minutes.

To make a long story shot(er), He got them to fix my car right. The new calibration is amazing!!! It shifts much faster, Tighter and makes my Magnaflow sound even meaner. I told them I'm never going back there to get any work done on my car. They made my wife wait an hour and a half to plug a tire once, and now this. The funny (or not so funny) thing is, I know the owner of the dealership. He wasn't there yesterday, but he's sure as hell going to hear from me on Monday!!!

Be very careful as to what dealership you take your car into. Make damn sure they know what the hell they're doing. Yes the car runs better, but all the BS I had to go through was just that.....BS!!!

I'm glad you are happy with the reflash. You aren't the first and wont be the last to have issues with getting the reflash done. Sounds like a lot of dealers are having problems doing the reflash.
