If you change your springs and it lowers your car by like 1.2"-1.5", do you really need different shocks or can you stick with the stock ones. I also assume that an alignment would be in order.

Alignment would definitely be in order. Also don't really count on what the mfg's say about spring height - when you put on aftermarket springs, they tend to settle lower than what they say. Anyway, to answer your question, you don't NEED to change out the shocks... but expect your shocks to wear much quicker.

MZ6ZoomZoom nailed it on the head....

Aftermarket struts/shocks will make the car ride better when driven hard. A nice matched set of shocks/springs is a very worthwhile upgrade.
