Sorry the car is a little dirty

1. Tape are with painters tape

2. Attach Templates to spoiler and position on trunk eyeball then measure to make sure it is centered side to side and front to back. Tape down templates with painters tape and remove spoiler.

3. Drill thru the holes in the templates with a small bit. Remove templates then using a large enough bit to allow screws or bolts to go thru holes. For the brake light harness I only drilled thru the first panel so I could run the harness under the panel under the trunk lid by drilling another hole in the side of the open cavern.

4. Run wire thru hole and set spoiler in place and bolt it down. I used gasket maker to seal up the holes. I also put some on the threads of the screws.

5. Since spoiler is now done it is time to move onto wiring the brake light. Cover the wire with plastic wire covers from the parts store so that it looks just like the factory harness that is coming from the trunk light. Run it along the harness and tape it in place.

6. For a cleaner look I ran the wire thru the opening near were the rear speakers were installed that way they are tucked out of the way so nothing will hit them.

7. After pulling the wire out at the trunk light opening you can now attach it to the break light harness. You will have to take the electrical tape and plastic cover off the brake light wires. After that you can tap into the wires. Solid wire to solid and striped wire to striped.

8. I then taped up everything so you cannot see the splice connectors. Now close the trunk hit the brakes and if the light comes on you are done.

Nice install. Is that the OEM or eBay spoiler?
It is the e-bay one. $119.00 painted and shipped. Spent $8 on the connectors, electrical tape and wire loop cover so a total of $127. Ford wanted $500 for theres and it does not look as nice as this one IMO.

Nice, I wonder if there is any difference between that one and the one they list on eBay for the Milan/Zephyr? They want $169 for the Zephyr one painted. The pic in the listing is of a Fusion. Who was the seller on yours?

I am thinking of getting one because I hate the 3rd brake light on the Zephyr. It just doesn't look good when lit because the Zephyr has LED brake lights. I would disable the oem third brake light if I were to install one of these.

do you have a warranty against the paint chipping? I told my dad about the spoiler and he said that's not a good idea to get after market add-ons because the paint could chip and stuff.

It has a 3 year warranty on the paint. So it has the same that the car does.

So if it chips you have to take it off and send it back to them?

Dose Ford offer any spoilers?
More than likely that is how it would work. It appears to be a base coat clear coat just like factory. Seller states it is Dupont paint which is one of the best so i would not worry about that paint. Mine looks great. But you could always have another coat of clear put on it if you were worried about the base chipping. That would take care of any issues and you would still be far less than the cost of fords. Ford does have one but does not looks as good as the aftermarket ones. it is a diff shape and sits alot lower. but the looks is all up to the buyer. I like this one and did not like fords. Also do not like the 3D carbon lip spoiler so i did not get one .

Is there any chance you could get a rear/side 3/4 shot and a side profile shot?

I'm still trying to decide if I want to buy this for my Zephyr. I just don't want it to look out of place. It will be functional in my eyes because it will provide me with a better 3rd brake light.

That and when using the rear view mirrow when backing up it gives you a refrence as to were the back of the car is. That "WAS" the only complaint about the car. I did not know were the back of the car was when backing up because you could not see the truck at all. And from reviews i have read from other fusion owners that is the one big complaint they have as well.

That's a good point. I've noticed three different style spoilers on eBay. There is one that rises fairly high(too high), the one like yours and there is one that is really low(too low). I'm pretty much sold on your style so I may just go ahead and buy it. If I don't like it I'll just resell it before I install it.

Ya i saw all of those as well and said the same thing. The fusion is not a "RICER" so i did not want the tall wing but i also did not want the stock one that is very small or the 3D carbon lip spoiler that is even smaller. But that is just my opinion i love the way it looks and even had a couple of the sales people at my dealership come up to me yesterday and want to know were i got it because they had not seen one like that installed on a fusion before. They both agreed it looked better than the ford spoiler and a ton better than the bare truck lid.

Well, I went ahead and ordered it. I'll test fit it and see if I like before drilling any holes. Thanks for your help.

no prob i will get you those pics anyway. i will also take some from the inside out so you can see how much the spoiler sticks up (not higher than the 3rd brake light).
