How are you getting 25 MPG city?????

I drive in the city all the time, can't go more then 1/2 mile without stopping!

What is your secret, do you roll through reds? and stop at the next green one? lol

Do you accelerate real real real slow?

Or do you just think you live in the city, and really drive in the country?

I'm getting 21, sometimes not even that in the city.

OR...did you just reset it, and coast for a while to get that 25.0 mpg.

Nah, your engine is cold, you just started it cuz you didn't put your seatbelt on, and its running near 2 grand.

I'm confused i give up.

City Driving for me is actually From Johnson City to Kingsport TN. 10 Miles of my trip to and from work is on the interstate, 5 miles on city streets with very little traffic, because I go to work so early. 24.5 mpg is the worst I've seen on the trip computer, but with cold weather on the way (meaning I will let the car Idle and warm up) I'll let You know How low it goes.

Wow. I am getting around 29.6 in mine. Mix of hilly, curvy rural country backroads, and around 25 miles of interstate....that's one way of course...42 mile one way trip to work everyday. I-4 Auto.

Having said that, if I set the cruise, and keep her at the speed limit, she'll get me into the lower thirties! (32-33 being about average). But then again, who can drive 55-65 all the time???

LOL. I know right. I'm only at 8,800 miles and I bought my Fusion in May of 06.

My mom bought her Ford 500 on the same exact day, hers was a demo and had like 3000 miles on it. She is up to 10,200 miles.

So I am slowly creeping up on her.

Damn I gotta stop driving.

Ryman,
The 8,800 miles in seven months is probably about average, I think. We only put 713 miles on our 2007 V6 SEL AWD Fusion the first month, which is below average, but we have three cars and just two drivers.

Besides, at 13 mpg city, I really don't want to put too many miles on it. LOL. Boz

At my current pace I'll hit 3-4,000 a 12 months after purchase. All that will change though once I start college. Yearly average is 15,000 according to the epa I believe

07 V6 AWD and im at 211K. Regular Synthetic 5W-20 Heavy Duty oil changes. 1st round replacements are valve cover gaskets, spark plug seals, cam seal, alternator, radiator, AC Condenser, all 4 wheel bearings, all 4 control arms, both tie rod ends, upper radiator hose. 2nd round replacements are all 4 brake rotors, spark plugs, and battery. Ive done all LED bulb replacements with no CANBUS error codes in dash. Tranny still pulls hard. Retorqued the cam cap bolts when i did the valve cover gaskets. Also, ive regreased the ball joints, cv joints, and guide pins on the brake calipers several times with hi temp water resistant grease. Cars been rear ended while i was on my way to work and insurance totaled it but i refuse to stop driving it because its such a champ of a car. Its got a very slow oil drip coming from the timing chain cover but its not a big deal. I LOVE this car.

Does Ford Fusion require synthetic oil?
Hi Robert. No, it does not require full synthetic oil. In fact, it comes from the factory filled with Motorcraft Synthetic Blend oil. That is a synthetic blend.

The required oil specifications are listed in your Owners Manual. If you do not have your hard copy, you can download the PDF version here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/parts-service/resources/owner-manuals/

All you need to use is an oil that meets and/or exceeds the specifications listed in the Owners Manual. You can use a full synthetic is you wish, if it gives you some peace of mind.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
