I'm unsure what "sketchy" exactly means, but people typically do not hack off the speaker wires, and leave 1" dangling from the amp -- unless the amp was "uninstalled" in an extreme hurry.

Uninstalled in less then an hour before I traded in my strato blue 2005 mazda 3 sedan:

I had about 1-2 hours to uninstall between work and my scheduled pick up. Ask any of the north central crew, they'd vouch that they saw it in my old car, lol. You work fast when you know your gettin a good servin of boosties
