Don't mean to threadcrap here...but you can get these brand new for about 15 bucks more...I will keep checking the thread but your price seems a bit steep right now.

OK I am a speaker n00b so bear with me please:

- do I need to upgrade the amp, or can I drive these with the stock HU (I have the 04 6CD HU if that helps)

- what are the benefits.. do they actualy sound better if I keep everything else stock, or thye just provide hte potential if I upgrade other parts?

- the 2 pairs .. is one of them front and one rear, if so why - what are the differences?

Thanks... I am quite interested if this provides improvement with the rest being stock..

You can run them off your stock HU. But to get the best performance you should run them off an amp. Just running them off the stock HU will still give you better sound than the stock speakers. Either pair can go in the front or back. So yes they will improve your stock sound even if you keep the stock HU. But I'd still suggest an amp for the long run.

Re: FS: Polk and Pioneer Speakers--postive or negative

Received today. Took about more than few hours to install one---reason was I did not want to solder to these speakers. Had to run out with no inside door to auto zone to pick up the female connectors to accept wire and connect to end of silver peice of purchased speakers.

I put the polk up front because from post I've heard it provides more bass than pioneer.. and because i will have bass from the sub in the back i will try to at least even it out some how.

NOW i am awaiting to find a used/new 4-channel amp so I may take full quaility of these clearer-sounding speakers compared to the stocks pushing some extra un-needed distoried nasty air or what not.

WTB: 4-channel AMP (not trying to take over post but just thought i would add comment about arrivial and one speaker is hooked and will await when i FIND OUT on the pioneer which wire is postive and negative-it has a solid black and black-n-white.
