Question: title reads AC adapter, thread reads DC adapter. Which is it?

yeah, its called an ac adapter but the output is dc. here are the specs as printed on the bottom...

INPUT: 100-240V 50-60Hz

OUTPUT: 18.5 VDC 2.7A
