Hey guys/gals,

I'm selling my services rather than the badges in the picture.

Conditions: Mail your badges to me at your cost (overnight shipping available). Be sure to include a piece of paper that has what you want done to your badges. The process that I go through to paint them is "The Right Way". I will modify your Flying M emblem on the trunk to match the picture (Batman Style).

Colors: I can have virtually any color painted for you. Standard color is black. PM me for questions about custom colors.

Estimated time in possession: 5-6 weeks

Disclaimer: I, BoostThat3 aka Corey, am not responsible for broken badges due to shipping. If badges are broken or lost, they are to be replaced with either shipping insurance or buyer.

Badges below are Gloss Black

Badges below are standard Flat/Matte Black

FAQ:

Is it possible to salvage and re-use the original tape, if removed cleanly, or is there a preferred brand of replacement tape for re-installation?

BoostThat3 - any particular silicone you recommend, other than 100%?
I'm actually going to recommend the silicone over the 3M tape. Yes, the tape works well... but it's a pain to put on compared to the silicone - which works just as good, if not better. To answer your question, no the tape is not reusable.

The type of silicone I suggest is just any RTV silicone:

 click

Of course that is WAY more than you need as you only need to apply it to the pegs of the badges.

What's the best way to get these off?

And will it leave crap behind like the side moldings
The best and safest way to take the badges off from the back:
- Take a strip of dental floss about 9-10 inches long.
- Wedge the dental floss under the badge/s and the tape
- Once you have enough room to fit your finger behind the badge/s, pull away from the car (carefully - you don't want to break the pegs!) and they will come off.

There may be residue from the tape on the badges that stuck to the car. You can use "Goo-Gone" to remove it easily.

Now, for the front it is a little different:
- Gather your materials: at least 5 paper clips and unfold them
- Open your hood
- Push the clip in and out just to unhinge the clip from the slot
- Put an unfolded paperclip in the open slot
- Repeat the above steps for all of the clips until you can safely pull the emblem off

What’s the difference between matte and glossy?
The matte clear coat is a smooth flat finish with no shine. The glossy clear coat is a shiney, more reflective finish that shines.

Well... Just because I'm getting rid of the Mazda (next year), doesn't mean that I won't be with you guys still. ;)

I'll be doing this till the business slows down I guess, but I'll still be open to inquiries.

Re: FS: Batman Flying M + Paint Your Badges/Emblems Any Color!

I have a black car and have been contemplating doing this for awhile. Have been a bit afraid to try it myself and the SU badges are hella expensive. Definitely interested in this. Based on what you'd seen etc would you recommend a flat black or shiny black for a black mica car?

How much would it be to have the batman mod done to the back one and also have the front emblem and mazda3 emblem painted flat black?

Subscribing now, this is a great deal. How long do you think it would take from the time you get them to the time they're back in our possession? Also, what color did you do the badges in the picture up there? They look bronze, but I can't be sure since I'm colorblind. Either way, they look great.

wow a simple mod and he's gunna make bank!

free bump!! i just tried it myself...didnt come out so well leave it to the pro and i have re-painted my emblem 3 times now, so it would be nice to have it done right.

Quick question if it starts to chip, will you re-paint for free of charge?

Re: FS: Batman Flying M + Paint Your Badges/Emblems Any Color!

To those wondering about the front badge, just add $5 to cover the cost for additional paint and chemicals.

If it does happen to chip, I will repaint for $5 + shipping. That said, I highly doubt these will start to chip in the lifetime of your car. I strive for quality. Simple as that.

Once the badges are in my posession, it should take about 4-5 days to strip the chrome, and 2 days to modify (if applicable) the rear emblem and paint everything. If you need them overnighted to shorten time lost without badges, please add that to additional costs.

The dealership charges $35 for the rear emblem alone. I think they charge $20 for the "mazda". I can get pricing on that. Maybe we can get a better price from our forum sponsors...
