... A chick... hahha... dude, they won't hear or even see a fellow fusion car/owned even if it hits them in them in the face... I see quiet a few female fusion (I4) driver's... and none of them recgnize that a fusion is driving next to them unless you yank tem out of their car and point it them...

... The men on the other hand... I have had about 4 or 5 guy having eye contact with me as we would nod to each other... but as far as everyone else... well... they are just "out there" type of people.

Um, hello?  I'm a "chick" (or does that status diminish once we pass the age 25 and get married?)  and I definitely notice other Fusions around.  :) I've been driving my husband crazy ~ "Hey, a Fusion just passed us, can you catch up to it!"    I haven't even gotten mine yet...*fingers crossed* for delivery this week!

To the original poster:  I hope people are more friendly next time!  If the person waving at me had the same car, I'd definitely wave back and know the purpose behind the waving.  My husband has a 1980 Corvette and on the rare occasion we actually take it somewhere sometimes people wave at us ~ and it's always other vette owners!  It's like you are part of something -- Sure it's a bit cheesy but it's nice.

if you are over 25, you are most likely not a chick anymore.

Sorry Shanon, I'm really glad that there are CHICKS like you on the roads today. I just havn't been lucky enough to meet ony Fusion chick like on the roads YET.... *whisper*- wanna come to california? hehe.
And I really don't think it's cheesy... instead, its a rather good feeling of "unity" per se.

as a former SHO owner, I have also noticed that most of the Fusion owners are not nearly as friendly as the SHO owners are/were. I don't think the car is that special in reguards to most people. When I am at the dealer, I talk to lots of people looking at Fusions and they, for the most part, are not CAR people. They just like the car when they see it there.

While it's great that you and the rest of us on the forum enjoy our cars and feel that the Fusion is a unique and at this time, seldom seen car on the road, you need to remind yourself that there are many more people that view a car as transportation only. They don't feel the handling, the balance and design that prompted you to buy, they just see low price, economical and reliable. These same people are same ones you'll see on a daily basis driving around with a cell phone buried in the ear and wiping their french fry grease hands on the seats and the front wheels are black from brake dust because they've never washed the car yet.

I was driving my fusion the other day and came across another fusion exactly like mine. The driver pulled over and we had a 20 minute conversation. I had no idea who the guy was. But there are some friendly fusion drivers out there.

Unfortunately, generalizing has to do with the General public... which, based on what you saying, you are not a part of.... thank god :)
I just wish there were more people such as yourself around my area... that would be super!

-Cheers.
