$$ :( I want to get it SO bad. But I am still holding fast to the fact I want no student loans when I buy it. I have about $3800 left after 10/19 so hopefully it will be ordered beginning of December. I already talked to the dealer and everything is in order, I just have to go in and place the order and sign for the credit. Luckily this dealer is really awesome. They already agreed to leave on all the shipping plastic and not touch it so I can take order of it and clean it all up myself where I won't have to worry about them putting grease stains on it or swirling or scratching the paint. :) One dealer refused to leave everything on, I couldn't figure out why, its just money that they don't have to spend and it makes me happy. Oh well, no sale for them.

Really? I was surprised, a 13.3 is not bad for a FWD Focus IMO.
Where did you read 13.3 in the 1/4??? That's blistering fast, and much faster than other tests I've read.

I think the Edmunds road test review sums up the car nicely:

http://www.edmunds.com/ford/focus-st/2013/road-test1.html

Yes, we do realize that in a few performance metrics the Focus isn't on top. But if the numbers are all that matter to you, your idea of fun varies greatly from ours.......

Bench racers will always revert to specs and stats. In particular, naysayers will point out the Focus ST's aforementioned shortcomings against the Mazdaspeed 3. Some may also balk at the $4,500 premium over a base Focus. Whatever. Drive it, and drive it hard.

Those doubts and digits will disappear in a cloudy haze of dust and smoke in your rearview mirror. The 2013 Ford Focus ST is quite simply the best front-wheel driver's car to date. It is as fun to pilot as the rear-drive Toyobaru twins and more nimble than the bang-for-the-buck Mustang.
Achieving this blend of performance, comfort and refinement is unheard of in this segment. The Ford Focus ST is the real deal. It took whatever arbitrary limitations we once placed on hatchbacks and burned them in a towering funeral pyre for all to witness. But above all, it's just plain fun.
Sounds like Ford has hit a homerun. Too bad the MS3 fanboys are up in a tizzy that it beats them in a comparison even though it's "slower".

Sorry that was my typo, 14.3 -14.5 is the numbers I have been seeing, and some have been saying they were sure with better tires (namely drag slicks) it would break 13 territory. And to me that is still quite good consitering its a 4cyl Focus.

But ya, I have heard a TON of outcry from the MS3 crowd and a little unrest from the VW crowd. But w/e, its a new competitor that did a very good job. I am sure someone will top it eventually.

Long story short, I assumed this lady would take a huge gap in traffic so I was anticipating stopping at the stop sign. Since I was assuming she would go I was looking out my side window (coming off the freeway) to look for my own gap in traffic and well, she never went....plus was stopped about half a car length short on the sign, so I wacked her quite good. Messed up the bumper, energy absorber, and destroyed my lower mesh grille. Luckily I have all the replacement parts now in my garage and I am just waiting on a time when I can get the bumper painted so I can install it all. Not the end of the world, but just enough cost to where I had to push back my order date AGAIN and its getting quite frustrating.

Sorry to hear that Kenny. Good news is that you'll never make that mistake again. Plus, if you're fixing it yourself, maybe it won't show up on Carfax. Yet another plus, the longer you wait, the more likely Ford will work through any growing pains on the first year model.

Took one for a test drive the other day. Wow what a rocket! The torque steer is pretty bad but it's a fun car to drive.

The power is awesome, handling is super sharp and the interior was a nice place to be. I liked the bucket seats but I could see how bigger guys wouldn't really fit too well. I'm a fairly lean [email protected] 5"10.. I found that they were great for around town and spirited driving but I think it would be a little much if your on the highway for hours.

It's a really fun car but it has a very specific group of buyers. I don't really see the point myself bc I would rather pick up a Mustang GT for a bit more.
