I ordered my fusion back in November through military car sales (I'm in England) and it is finally here. Well, its not in my hands, but its here. Seem like it took forever since it had to be built and shipped on a boat. The rest of you are lucky since you can just go to a dealer and pick from their selection or use the ordering process, which is still much faster than the process I had to use. My car has cleared customs (takes 2 weeks) and is sitting at a local major mechanic where all American cars for service members are taken for warranty repairs, light conversions, shipments, etc.  I saw mine sitting there yesterday, but it didn't have license plates yet. So I'm assuming all it needs is the light conversion, plates, and a quick detail before they hand it over to me. I feel like a little kid waiting for Xmas. This is my first brand new vehicle besides my motorcycle. They told me it would be ready this week so obviously I feel like I can't wait. I'll have the second fusion on base so it should get a lot of stares. People at work want to see it and are always asking me if I got it yet. The only other one on base (besides the 2 on the military sales lot) is a Dune SEL V6, and I hardly ever see it. But when I do see it in a parking lot, everybody looks at it as they walk by. Anyways I should hopefully have it in a few days, I'll try to remember to bring my camera so I can take pics.

What is this light conversion you are speaking of?

The light conversion for Britain requires the headlights to aim to the left, have sidemarkers, orange turn signals front and back, and a rear fog light.

In the case of the fusion they will:

Aim the headlights,

Wire the stock sidemarkers to blink with the turnsignal,

Put orange bulbs in the back up lights and wire them to the turnsignal, (but I will no longer have reverse lights),

And add a rear (red) foglight below the rear bumper.

The rear fog light is pretty sweet ! Every year I drove out to New Brunswick around Christmas and I have about half my trip (which is 1100 km) through heavy fog. Some Volvos, Audis, and BMWs have stock rear fog lights and they are much more visible than the other cars.

It's official, I have to wait longer to get my car. I pick it up on Wednesday at 2 pm. Turns out my car has been ready for 2 weeks but they had the wrong phone number and couldn't reach me. I drove in their yesterday just to see whats up and I got to see my car up close. It still had the white plastic protective stuff on some of the body panels and the hubcaps aren't on yet either. I was suprised that they added LED sidemarkers, looks pretty good. The window sticker is still in the window, and it says export all over the back of it, interesting. Long story short, my 5 month wait has turned into almost 6 months.
