he's not really gay. apparently according to him he and someone else schemed this idea becuase they thought it would be a fun april fool's joke or whatever.

It was budgy who helped him out.

The day it was let out that it was a joke, Greg IM'd me to let me in on the joke. Since then, I've ignored all of his IM's to me (several a day) as I've lost any respect that I may have had for him.

Frosty's "joke" was tasteful and relevant to this forum, yet Greg's was just really tasteless. I even went so far as to offer Greg my time if he wanted to discuss it and I guess I can say I felt like a fool after finding out the truth. On the other hand, when Frosty announced his new Civic, I gave him a simple tease and then congratulated him on his purchase. Others in the forum weren't so cordial. In fact, quite a few were downright nasty which I thought was very uncalled for. The "fake" car purchase was a simple joke that shouldn't have bothered ANYONE. However, trying to pull the wool over the eyes of people you want to be your friends with a bogus "out of the closet" confession does NOT even compare.

And that's how I feel about it.

I've never understood that concept. Is that some kind of default response from insecure, arrogant people who think they make more money than others? I don't get it...what does the amount of money he makes have to do with ANYTHING when it comes to whether he's liked or disliked?

As far as I'm concerned, that attitude is NO different from that piece of shit "rockintunes23" who thinks he's bettter than everyone and considers anyone who owns a Mazda3 "white trash."

The problem is that banning of users is generally ineffective since it's easy for people to use a proxy server and sign on with many other usernames and dummy email addresses. I can get 10 new accounts on 10 email addresses with 10 IP addresses in about 10 minutes.

Sure, but if a new member suddenly has a negative schtick similar to a recently banned member, they are going to stand out like sore thumb. Case in point, "rockintunes23". Several times he has said that he'd just make a new name if he was banned. Sure, that's great and all, but the second this new member starts ripping on the Mazda3 and talking about his former BMW and Mercedes, we're all going to know it's rockintunes23. So, if ANYTHING, the person might actually change their attitude if they come back with a new name. Banning him might not be such a bad thing after all, if in the end it gets him to clean up his attitude. Besides, it would only be a matter of time before the previously banned "new member" slipped up and said something to give themselves away. I've seen that happen often on message boards as well.

but I still think he should have been temp-banned for that "gay joke."
