Just bought illuminated sill plates with Fiesta logo from Genuine Ford Door Sill Plates - Illuminated, Fiesta Logo - DE8Z-54132A08-B | Levittown Ford. I have routed the wires, and attached the sills. Now the hard part. I have reviewed the instructions, and it shows cutting two wires, and installing a crimp splice.

So risky, afraid of ruining the factory wire harness. Not uncertain with my DIY skills, maybe I need to call a mechanic? Any thoughts

Hi Ideapad. In the grand scheme of things, crimp splicing is easy. So if you feel comfortable identifying and splicing the correct wires, it is an easy do-it-yourself job.

However, if you do not feel comfortable, you may be better off having it done by a shop/tech you trust.

if you feel you wont be able to do that, you can definitely go to a shop/tech like bbf mentioned - just look around on yelp is what i would do if i were you. im not very handy either with DIY skills and feel much better that a shop does some of my fixes for me.
