Does anyone know if this car has a built in antenna booster? I hooked up a new Pioneer head unit and the AM reception is non-existent. Crutchfield indicated that sometime cars with a window antenna have boosters. I have looked on my service manual DVD and I see a wire for antenna powr and it goes to an antenna module. Anyone know for sure?

It appears that there is a booster. For anyone installing an aftermarket headunit, be sure to hook a 12v switched power to the lead for the booster (it should be in pin number 5 on the radio harness)

Hi eiching1,

Where did you connect the antenna booster wire? I am having the same problem in my 08 Fusion. I have FM reception, but no AM. The Metra harness had no wire, so I have to tap into the factory harness, but don't know where to connect it.

Thanks, Bill

On the 24 pin connector it is Pin #5, Color may vary from car to car, but not the pin location. Check out the 2 attachments. Good Luck!
