Pepboys sells a 16.99 dollar MAF adapter that fits our cars. I will be installing the Cone filter and maf combo tomorrow. I'm praying for no Lights.

EDIT - I can't post in powerplant for some reason but if someone could move this for me. :)

Obviously the V6 has a round MAF sensor. I've seen the one your talking about there and bought one wanting to do the same thing, but unfortunately the 2.3 liter uses a flat rectangular MAF and is too wide to fit. The old square peg in the round hole problem. For the time being I'm force to make due with an improvised version by removing the panel filter, sealing the drain holes, sealing the lid and cutting the stock snorkle to 1.5 inches from the box, using a heavy duty rubber 90 degree elbow from my jet ski parts bin and using a coupler to a Piper Cross Spun Aluminium cone filter for a Mini Cooper S. With all that, the Frankenstein CAI resides in the front left bumper fascia behind the now backless driving light plug. Pop the hood and it looks stock but the improvement is well worth the time. However the Cosworth Air intake looks interesting ans has a flat MAF connection. 8)

Well we can forget about a custom CAI. The V6 maf is also a square unit. Did ford switch to a new MAF this year or something?

Well damn, I was hoping the V-6 was different but it appears that Ford in their infinate wisdom chose to use a propritary MAF sensor instead of using the one found on the Mazda 3 and 6's which are round. However, the CAI designed for the 2004-2005 Focus use the flat MAF sensor BUT! and this is a big one, CAI for the Focus do not have all the required vacume hose fittings that may be necessary for the drive by wire throttle. If anything most Focus CAI comes in 3 pieces, a primary tube that attaches to the throttle body, this is the section with all the vacume tubes, a second section that contains the MAF and the third that uses a section of tube to the filter. Unfortunately just to get the seond and third sections you still have to buy the whole deal for up to $300. It would be nice if some our the sponsored suppliers would get a move on with the parts.
