I would love cooled seats ... but I live in Edmonton, Alberta ... and this year I think we're only going to have 12 days where it's not winter.

Also, keep in mind, perforated for appearance, and for purposes of cooled seats are different types of perforations. Cooled seats usually use a smaller perforation, straight punched, all the way through the leather. Perforation for apperance is more of a pitting process, but does not go all the way through the leather typically.

The leather in the Fusion Sport is perforated through the leather.

"They use a Peltier device with a small fan to blow hot or cool air through the perforations. It's an electrical device that produces heat or cold depending on the polarity of the current."[/quote]So does this mean that if you already have heated seats that you can just reverse the polarity and have cooled seats? Now you've spiked my curiosity and I have to check the diagrams :p

 Please do.. Im still confused if its a completely separate unit in the Ford than in the Lincoln. :dunno:

I found it... :)

It looks like they use a mating similar to a heating pad. Seems to flip polarity via MS CAN (gray/org and violet/org).

The Electronic Manual Temperature Control (EMTC) system heats or cools the vehicle depending on the HVAC module — control panel selection.

Car needs Front Controls Interface Module (FCIM) (comes with Fusion and Milan with navigation and all MKZ)

The wiring diagram is identical for the Fusion/Milan with heated seats as compared to the MKZ. Same parts/wiring color codes/etc.

Only problem I see is where to put the (cooling) switch for the Fusion/Milan...

Exactly where the buttons are in the Lincoln.. They are blank/fake buttons in the Fusion. (mine at least) They are right under the heated seat buttons.

Oh snap.... I was just about to say that I have a different dash but when I looked I saw those same spots are open for switches on mine...

I wonder if Ford is going to offer the cooled version for 2013? Those empty buttons are to perfect for anything else :)
