i think with the painted handles we dont really need the chrome, unless like said above, its a black car that has some more chrome accents (wheels an such) i had the chrome handles on my 04 f150, but that was just to cover up the black plastic...it looked good, the covers wernt perfect though....

I saw a black Fusion with those door handles and chrome covered mirrors the other day. It looked ok; but I think a dark color such as black is one of the only colors that can pull it off.

I don't think I'd install them on my merlot red Fusion; it's just another thing that will easily scratch and annoy the crap outta' me! :x

I also had trouble putting them on they seem to be a little smaller than the actual door handles on the Fusion. But if you position the covers on the upper part of the door handle you can pretty much mask the fact that the covers dont fit properly.

So it will fit but you just have to scratch the hell out of the door handles! But how did you put them on? Do you have to force them in?

No I didnt have to force them on I just placed 3M tape all on the backing of the chrome covers so that most areas would stick. I just made sure that all parts of the door handle that could be seen would be covered by the chrome cover. I think they are a good cheap exterior mod but I am going to look into maybe some higher priced chrome covers that will be an exact fit.

They do look cool-even on white (I have white) but I'd be afraid to do the install especially with the issues mentioned thus far. the colored ones are nice enough for me

Putco has actually released a kit for the fusion. It is shipping now. Most kits you see now are kits that people are putting together from Mustang handle kits. The mustang handles are close to the fusion, and you can make them fit with a little force and alot of love.

Where are you all gettting the chrome handles? I noticed two sets on E-bay: one for $15.99 I think and another much higher, like $45.00 or something like that.

It all comes down to "different strokes for different folks" and the desire (need?) to have an individualized set of wheels. Some people just like change for change's sake. I don't happen to be one of those folks but I respect people who are that way. Boz

I think it's a guy thing, we just like to fiddle and change things.

Yup, I also can't leave things alone. My wife says the same things to me.
