I was looking at the mazda website and for 2007 the 2.3 in the 3, 5, and 6 is advertised at 156 hp. On the ford site however the 2.3 is still 160 hp for the 2007 models (fusion). Also, the V6 in the mazda 6 is now 212 hp, from what I remember it used to be rated at 220 when it first came out, then 215, and now 212. Is this because of the new SAE ratings? Does this affect the fusion too? I don't really care if our hp ratings drop because I know my engine still remains the same but I'm just curious.

My best guess is the new SAE ratings are to blame. Most of what I've read says the Japanese will see the big differences- most all of them going down.
