I bought a "pre-owned" 2006 Fusion SE V6 that has almost every option that I wanted EXCEPT autolamp headlight controls.

Can this controller be added later? I've read on other sites that the light sensor is on all cars whether or not the autolamp option was installed. I'm hoping that it's just a simple matter of buying and intalling a new headlight switch.

Any clues?

If you have automatic climate control then it has a functioning light sensor. If it doesn't then you'll have to see if the sensor is there or at least the sensor connector. Then you have to check your headlamp switch connector for the autolamp wiring. You also might have to have the Smart Junction Box programmed for autolamps.

If you need wiring, component location, or connector views let me know. You'll have to go to the dealer to have the autolamps programmed into the Smart Junction Box.
