So ... I'm thinking about getting a backup sensor .. one of those beep beep things ..

Ideas?

Would have saved me $800.00 to have had one. My garage door opener malfunctioned, and I backed the Fusion into the door. Fusion looks okay, but the door had to be completely replaced.

I'd like to know on this as well, as the Fusion has poor rear visibility.

Had one added 2 days ago. Sensors look good (sensors look just like on the back of a Five Hundred), not as good as without, but they aren't too distracting. Function wise it is about like the factory systems as it beeps faster the closer you get to an object. Interior speaker is a little ugly, but its by the drivers right knee so unless your looking for it you wouldn't notice it. I know there are other kits available also that woudl have different speaker/switch units.

I've very happy we added it since I'm sure I'd have backed over something eventually. I still haven't learned to completely trust it since it looks like I'm about to back through the wall when I try to back close, but it does work and I'm happy.

is it a Ford kit?

No Ford doesn't offer one. I used a aftermarket installer that comes to our dealership regularly (They do heated seats, Leather kits, ground effects, etc.)

My sister just went and got a back-up system on her V6 SEL. I don't know if it was a "Ford" kit or not, but she got it done AT Ford.

Let me see if I can get some pictures of her car.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm thinking about one for my wife's minivan (she's already hit one pole with it). Did anyone ever add this to their car? If so, do you have any pics or advice, recommendations, etc. Thanks
