I've read many times that the % of cars sold in the US with a manual trans is about 15%. I wonder what what the % is for 4 cyl Fusions?

It is right around 7%. 

1% of SEL's are 4 cylinder manuals (like mine!)

Well, let's say Ford sells 300,000 Fusions and Milans this year, that's 24,500 manual trannys. I'd say that's enough to keep it as an option. I know early Taurus' had sticks as an option (I'm referring to the regular model, not the SHO) but they later dropped it - that almost definitely had to be lack of demand.

Those early Taurus 2.3 4 cylinders were nothing like our Fusions! Did Ford sell more than 2 or 3 of them? Yeah, I hope Ford keeps the manual tranny around for us 5 speed bangers! I would not have purchased a Fusion without a manual. Would someone please tell Ford that there are customers waiting for a V6 with a manual! I would have shelled out the extra chash for the 6 if it was offered with a manual. Gotta love choosing your own gear and letting it rip however you please! Forget the automatics, I have had enough of them for this lifetime!

Ya, me too - I would not have purchased a Fusion without a stick.

my girl NEVER understood why i had to get a 5 speed car, untill she rode in my fusion today, between the smile on my face and the engine noises shes like oh wow they are hot, so i was happy . fuck automatics ill never go back hehe

The engine noise isn't any different... and for that matter, if she's in the passengers seat, it's really no different...

I love my manuel transmission. I don't think I would have gotten the car if it was an automatic. Long live the manual.
