Anyone else notice a odor of Anti-freeze after driving. I have an odor, but don't see a leak or have a puddle. Will take to dealer with my list of other issues.

I have never noticed anything. Your not seeing a puddle cause its probably burning off before it hits the ground. Probably just a loose hose or bad gasket. (I hope)

Considering where you live it may be a situation with a slight overflow because of the heat and driving conditions. It's a sealed system and the only way to relieve pressure is through the fill tank cap or check valve in the fill tank.

Never had odor with and other new car. The other issues I am having are small, Fablic one vanity visor has pulled loose from mirror leaving a hole about half inch, also hate how the visors will not stay up toward the windshield. All interior door panels virate when stereo is on no matter how little Bass is applied (there is a TSB on this). The Outside chrome belt trim on the passenger front panel has the black rubber peeling up.

Yes; I have noticed antifreeze smell from under the hood after driving for a while.
Don't see any leaks and level not low,,, but I WILL report this to the dealer at my 10k mile service interval.
This happened on a 1990 E-150 I bought new and I complained to the dealer about it for years,,had a 6/60k warranty back then. Just before the warranty expired I noticed a trail of dried up white stuff running from the top of the engine, down the head and side of the block and onto the oil filter. It was dried up antifreeze. Anyway,, went back to the dealer where they replaced the leaking intake manifold gasket and one head gasket under warranty.
I suspect that if we smell antifreeze, it's leaking or weeping onto something hot, even the block, and we are smelling the fumes as it evaporates. Complain to the dealer like crazy. I plan to.

nobody has reported here any major engine or anti freeze related issues.. i actually smelt some anti freeze like smell sitting in a drive thru today... thing is i got that from my countour too... iam not overly worried about it.. i beleive some people worry too much and make too much out of nothing, its a machine, it has moving parts.. it will make noises, put off goofy smells at time.. i find it normal, every one of my cars, not all fords have given this smell periodically, and none have blown to bits... iam not worried.

I too smell the 'smell' but mine seems to be intermitent. I noticed it for the first time last week and then again over the weekend. I looked and couldn't find anything but I may take a closer look now that I see others are having the same issue. Thanks for the postings guys.

It is a little embarssing to drive a car and have windows down and smell hot antifreeze. And after driving it, parking it and getting out, you get a big wiff of antifreeze. I paid alot less for other cars with no smells. It is a sealed system, there should be no smells. I can open the over flow, stick my nose to it and not get the smell, if I stand right above the radiator, I get the smell, I think it is the radiator.

Mine also seems to be comming from rad area. I went by another dealership and ask if they had seen any of this problem. They said
yes, and had pressure tested a customers cooling system and found no leaks. The service manager also confirmed the smell but has no answer as of yet. They have had three complaints...  :( Also is everyone that has posted running a 3.0..? And does any one know the diffrence in 3.0 and 2.3 rad?

If there's no loss in coolant, then your not smelling anti-freeze, plain and simple. With that said, I had a vehicle once that I also had an anti-freeze like smell intermittently. But, my coolant tank would also drop over time. Could never find any visible leak source. It finally turned out to be the radiator cap. The rubber sealing washer had compressed to the point that it was allowing just a small amount of air to leak from the radiator and cause evaporation of a small amount of coolant. Replace cap, all is good.

Now onto the point that you smell anit-freeze but have no coolant loss. In this case, it's not anti-freeze I can assure you. What it may be is your windshield washer fliud leaking or spilling out. I had this problem once as well where the cap on the bottle was not very tight and fluid would leak out and make its way onto the exhaust header. The washer fluid contains glycol, which is the ingredient in most anti-freeze mixtures and keeps the washer fluid from freezing. If it leaks onto soemthing hot, it will smell like anti-freeze.

Good luck!

Well its been 5 months of ownership and 2100 miles and I am now smelling coolant. I am not too concerned but will have it checked next service. Has anyone else had anything fixed with this issue?

Had the dealer check this, but they could not see anything and said they didn't smell anything. Anti-freeze and windshield washer fluid smell differently when burning off, it is anti-freeze. Checked the coolant over-flow bottle when engine was cold, was about 1 1/2 inch below cold fill line.

Have the Dealer put pressure on the cooling system when the engine is cold. If there is a leak, it should show up. Do you smell it in the cab or outside?

Do this: fill up the overflow to full when cold, mark it with a sharpie, then drive it for a month. If the coolant drops, you have a leak. Take it to the dealer and have them pressure test it overnight. If no drop, then your not leaking anti-freeze and the only other thing running glycol is the washer fliud....

Keep us posted.
