Another flip-key thread...

nope! It worked. I didn't realize you had to program the PATS separately from the fob. I found the procedure online (I don't have an owners manual) and did it and the thing works!
One of the coolest mods I've done on any of my cars to date!

Off topic a lil: this key is a dead ringer for a VW key. Same design and everything. Kinda wish it had a VW logo on the back just to freak people out.. :lol:

I actually wind up using the pdf version more often than my Owners Manual hard copy.

While you re at it, you may as well register. Once you register, there are useful and convenient services available.

Yup. That's where I got it from. I really prefer the paper version though. Usually when I first get a car I sit down that night and read the manual and then never touch it again. Sometimes there's interesting tid bits.

I work at a car dealer so when I got it (1 week from purchase date) I took it to work and found a VW flip key to compare. Honestly they are very close. Buttons are nice and crisp, easy to push. The panic button takes a bit more force to push which I believe is done on-purpose so you don't accidentally push it. Slight, and I mean very slight side to side movement of the key when extended which does not worry me one bit. I have no fear of it busting off in the ignition. Very solid piece for $50.

They wouldn't touch mine at all. Went to two of them, neither one would for liability reasons.

just to let you know, the Ford emblem on the back of mine has scratched almost completely off...
