Well I just blew out the speaker in Fusion. My driver side door speaker is gone. I went to best buy and the sales representative recommended the Alpine Type-S speakers.

How many speakers do our cars have? I have an SE model. I know there are two up front and two in the rear. There are also these little speakers near the side mirrors. I believe those are called tweeters. So that's 4 speakers with two tweeters.

Has anybody installed aftermarket speakers in there Fusion? If so, how hard was the install?

I would just get it done at Best Buy! I believe you have 6 spkrs? Unless you are good with putting things back together? I just love my Fusion to much, plus the wife would be nagging if it does come out the same. I saw my 6x9's in the rear, they got to go! Need some 4wys.

I'm not sure I'd want a kid making $5/hr working on my car. Also, do you have the Audophile? If not, you don't have 6x9's, you have 5x7's and they're in the rear doors. What he recommended won't work. The front 5x7s have the crossover for the tweeter built into it. If you put aftermarket 5x7's in, you either lose the tweeter or if they wire it in, it will run full range which will cause it to blow. I'd recommend either just getting the stock speaker replaced under warranty or going with components.

Also spend the $8 on some speaker wiring harnesses. You won't screw up pos/neg and you won't have to splice into the stock harness.

So just what is the audiphile stereo????

No info on the Ford web site, dealer could not tell me...
I couldn't spend $420 dollars on a switch that optimizes the fader & balance for driver, passenger, or all..which is all the owner manual indicates for the audiophile.

So what is in there compared to the stock SEL six speaker six disc system?

Thanks.

Also adds two more speakers in the back ..

I got the premium .. cause I read a review that said the improvement was not that great ..

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you go to a dealer, bring your own CDs (more than one) and try them in both types.

I could not do that cause at the time fusions where a rare car to find on lots.

I will say the premium has lots of bass, and I'm not sure two more speakers in the back would have helped much. I had intended to spend the $400 on an aftermarket subwoofer, but probably not going to do that now. All my friends telll me it has plenty of bass.

I'm also not the type that likes to rock the neigbors windows, it doesn't have THAT much bass, just enough to make the music sound nice.

I have alpine s2 in the rear and cause the front are components. i suggest you put the same type in. I got the polk audio db series 5 1/4 on the front doors with tweeters. the door pannels are a freakin [email protected]#h to get off but they just pull right off. If any of you guys need a step by step how to remove them let me know i have done it about 3 times to all 4 doors to find the perfect speaker combo
