Yeah, I am at every 7-8 months I have pull the battery for Bluetooth to work. Sometimes it happens at inopportune times, I keep a 1/4 drive ratchet with the socket for the negative post, and have stopped at 1am on the interstate 100 miles from anything to reset it.

I did put together a Plan B and Plan C, a bluetooth adapter for the aux in, and a Type C>Audio and Lightning>Audio adapter.

What version of the SYNC software do you have? Mine came with the 2012 release version, and it was not very good (it always defaulted to Line In, if it was still in AUX, but usually FM, and the last version broke on phone mic ("Hey Siri" or "Hey Google"), but I think I ended up with version 4.4 that has some weird things (like it says "Bluedooth Audio").

I have the premium sound 12 speaker 390w Sony in my 2012, and it does okay for me. I have more issues with something lose and misaligned in a door that rattles than any sonic issues from the setup. It is by far the best OEM system I have ever had, but most of my cars are pre 2001, my Lincoln Mark VIII is the next best, and it took aftermarket speakers and adding a sub and Bluetooth hacked into the CD changer to make it useful.

The other number (FPN) is what I am familiar with.
I have dr3t-14d544-af which is version 4.4
The last was 4.6 which was dr3t-14d544-ag (but it has bugs that cause issues with phone voice commands)

That is version 3.2, that is what mine had and seemed to be what it had from the factory. I noticed that many of the SYNC1 documents and help articles are missing from the Ford site recently. When I log in and check my car, it says I have 4.1.3 (which is one I installed from there and reported the installation), and that an update is available, but only get the option to go to a dealer to get it installed.

I am pretty sure I googled the various versions listed and tried them and settled on 4.4 (dr3t-14d544-af) it was pretty easy to find people that put the files available for download.

I don't think that is the one you want. That might be for with navigation.

dr3t-14d544-af has Siri Eyes Free (and hey google commands) and track info on the VFD display.
dr3t-14d544-ag has Siri Eyes Free disabled I am not sure if you care, I use it all the time, so I needed it so stayed with 4.4.

3.2 was very problematic for me. I bought my car used 200 miles away from home, and I had so many problems with it I wanted to rip it out. But once I got 4.1.2 it was slightly better, 4.6 more frequently defaulted back to Bluetooth and required fewer fuse/battery pulls to reset it, but Siri Eyes Free disabled was a show stopper for me.

There are 3 drivers of the car, with 3 different phones, and we use Bluetooth headphones, so it is less likely to get the correct Bluetooth connected, but if I drove it last, and drive it next without using another Bluetooth device on my phone, it connects and works immediately. We frequently do need to press the speak button and say "Bluetooth Audio" but that is okay, my SYNC 3 vehicle rarely gets it right (but we usually plug in and use CarPlay/Android Auto).

This was removed a month ago, this shows some version information, but gets very vague when it gets to 4.6 and possibly 4.8. It also doesn't specify the differences in V4.4 versions.
