Hi Folks, it's your friendly MIA Moderator signing in for some potential action. There's been some discussion in the Moderator board about bringing in a new SM or two, but that discussion needs to be formalized and opened up to y'all as well... so here are the names I found over there, along with a few remaining folks from the last time SMs were discussed here:

LaraW  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=22876
azazel1024  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=8899
ramosdominicano  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=8476
BKWil  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=9065
the415  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=6682
AzMs3  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=704
rubyred3  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=4602
BoostAddict  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=17228
holeydonut  http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=1831

Let's get a few more names suggested over the next week or so - and begin talking about the pros and cons of each person. We'll put all of the candidates up for a vote later on.

Some of the candidates are apparently a little rough around the edges.... I actually try to stay out of the SM voting these days except under special circumstances. But like I wrote in the moderator section, I'd like y'all to express caution with bringing in folks that have been trouble in the past, but are calm and cool in the present. My experiences up in here have shown that those people who have presented mood swings like that typically go back to trouble and douchebaggery again in a matter of time. Only in a few rare instances have I seen jerks become true, converted non-jerks.

I readily endorse azazel1024 and BKWil. Both are positive, solid contributors to this forum! The others I have little knowledge of, or have concerns about them.

Re: Time to talk about new SMs

Added rubyred3 (she was missed from the thread in mod section). Try to keep location in mind - we have a lot of coverage in NC and a decent amount in the Northeast (though some of us there are less active than we used to be). Good members are all around - let's make sure we have good representation by location! :)

Re: Time to talk about new SMs

I think they are all good candidates to be honest. Lets bring in some of the other folks though, I think it's only fair. Lara is a good girl but she's relatively new whereas Remi has been around almost as long as I have. Herb has been here even longer. Same with Ruby (dunno his name). The fact that I can name some of them first hand is case in point that they should be made SMs.

Longevity doesn't count for much. Content and quality of their posts is what we should focus on.

Re: Time to talk about new SMs

Herb was a big help in the turbo section, Remi is always posting in the northeast section and generally making friends with everyone. I don't have much to say about ruby since I don't follow his posts much, but azazel always has interesting stories.

Agree with Remi (and I try to stay out of the voting). He's a genuinely good guy and a great help to a lot of folks.

Any other good people we're missing from the list?

here is a late entry
BoostAddict

He has very informative posts and has gone as far to make 3 of the best stickies in the modification section of the mazdaspeed area

Not late at all - I wanted people to add more names before I made a votey job, so you're right on!

I'm not really a fan, but I'll add him to the list.... let everyone decide to vote in that a-hole!

You forgot one: http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?action=profile;u=12164

FWIW, I've seen both rubyred3 and azazel1024 contribute a lot of useful and informative posts--especially when it comes to shedding an analytical light on general tech discussions.

Okey Dokey... I guess tomorrow sometime when I'm not lazy I'll make a votey job and y'all can have at it. Whatever names are on the list when I get around to it will be the nominees.
