Ok here is my deal.... I went today to get an estimate for painting and installing my spoiller. I use the best bodyshop in town and have always been pleased with their work. They won't install the spoiler for me. They don't want the responsibility of putting it on because it is aftermarket and only held on with tape. I guess my question is has anyone put the spoiler on themselves? I guess I am going to have to. I don't want to have anyone else do the paint work because of the quailty. Please leave me some feedback on how hard or easy it was to install the spoiler.

The rear spoiler, or the rear windshield spoiler? Either way man, trust me, it's on there GOOD. There is not that much wind pressing against it. Not like it's actually meant to do anything but look nice. It will not improve the handling like an actual race wing/spolier.

They won't put it on? No problem. MAKE SURE you line it up in the cetner, as once you stick it, it's on there good. No big deal, bro. I'd put it on for you if I was in the area.

Did you get the whole 6-piece kit? Sometimes, companies forget about the upper rear window spoiler.

Its the rear spoiler.... I was just reading the instructions and it does not seem too bad. I gues if I don't get it right I can always lift it off, ge new tape and start again.

Thanks for the offer swoop..... I would take you up on that offer if you lived close!

Update:
I checked with another body shop and am having it painted and installed for 1/2 the price. I checked out all their work and it seems to be great. I just didn'tlike the guys manors whn I checked at the other place. Seemed snooty about me having an aftermarket spoiler. I will post pics as soon as I get it finished.

I just noticed mine has lifted on one side. We had a week of 90+ temps along with the humidity made it feel 100+. That's when I noticed my spoiler separated from the trunk/tape on the passenger side, the separation is about 6 inches long. Not really that noticeable, but if you look carefully you can see daylight through it.

Since the dealer installed it when it was delivered, I'm going to have them look at it when I take it in for its first oil change.

Interesting, mine JUST lifted up on the passenger side and my dealer wants nothing to do with it. I'm visiting them again on Monday with paperwork stating that it's covered under warranty.

Oh Great..... This is not good news..... Has anyone contacted 3dcarbon about this problem? I am worried about having this done now. :hide: I do have a question, does the stuff they put on the trunk to help the spoiler stick do anything to the finish underneath? I will be pretty ticked off if this turns into a big problem. :tense:

It can't possibly be a BIG problem, dude. I mean, it's double sided tape, bro. Take it off, scrape it off, re-apply tape, stick it back on. Sure, it's a pain-in-the-ass, but it couldn't get more simpler. I'm gonna screw the dealer and just get my own tape.

Yea, I guess you are right.... I guess it lifting up is somthing to be expected when it is only taped down and the heat we have all had in the past few weeks. I guess you and lammer are lucky you cought it before it blew off going down the highway.

It was $189 plus another $100 for prep and paint.

I took it in this week, while I went away for a golf outing for a few days and they fixed it and buffed out a scratch I had no my rear quarter panel near the trunk.

It was waiting for me washed, and detailed for me when I got home from my trip. It was like picking up a brand new car a second time !

...and not a dime out my pocket! :D

easy fix... so if you've been considering one, get it, if there's a problem later they'll fix it. so there's no reason not to get one, eh !
