To be honest, there probably wont be. The fusion platform is more of a family sedan, so the larger engines will probably only have automatics. Like the F150, you cant get a stick shift wtih a 5.4 Thats just the way the market is headed.
A standard shift was always offerd as an option in the escort family station wagons. So That's not what determins optional equipment! That's the beauty of the fusion with minor cusomization you can take it eather way, elegant or sporty. Being that Ford is the company That designed the stylist body kit, I beleave that they realize the potential as a sport compact. That being said It would be foolish not to provide street racers with stanard 3.0. As far as buying a mazda. I don't care who owns the company I will "never" own a Foreign name plate "never". Nor will I decorate my car with Kangi & dragons . I'm An native american I like tribal flames & old english font. Besides the fusion looks better!!!!.........
