What the Ford sales rep told me the answer is no.  The Zepher or now the MKX with get it and not the Ford.

I did a search and it seems some say it is not coming at all. Then some say it will get in the Fusion later, like 08 or 09. I guess Ford might wait until some of the hoopla over the Fusion wears off. It is pretty popular right now. Consumer reports even likes it! If they do wait and gas prices stay low, I would buy one.

yeah, i wouldn't trade my 3.0 for any 3.5. This motor has been around in one variation or another for a long time. It's the best it's ever been now and is a proven engine. Plus, mine runs like a scalded dog now even more after the PCM reflash. bring on any 3.5, it'd have to be a lot faster to beat my retuned 3.0 now. plus, 35 mpg on the highway isn't attainable with any 3.5- that's what my SE V6 gets.

Do you know what you reflashed your PCM to? cause I'd like to have what ever you have under the hood. Especially with the 35 mpg, that seems unrealistic. But who knows but yourself. Please tell me which code you used!

I drove an MKZ with the 3.5 producing 263hp and wasn't all that impressed, not enough to pay extra and lose the styling of the fusion. It would bring the fusion up to v6 standards though (camry has 268 and honda 244 so we lag a bit) which as long as it didn't cost any extra would be fine

Its not all about HP though-we may have less hp but in the slalom we still smoke toyota and honda

I had my V6 reflashed to the currect ford specs. I can tell you that it does make more power for the car, like it unleashed power that was buried beneath some software. And yes, on the hwy my V6 will sit at 35 mpg all day at 65 mph. Toyota and Honda can claim any horsepower figure they want, but it has been documented that they always overinflate their claims. This has to be opposite with the Fusion V6 especially after it has been reprogrammed. It runs in line with the way my mother's Mark VIII runs and that ain't no slouch. It's the quickest car I've ever driven. It doesn't have the torque of a 90's Mustang GT, but it will run like one when you get it up into the revs and will probably leave one in roll-ons up to the rev-limited speed. The 6-speed, after reflashed, is truly awesome. It will hold every gear to redline in mine.

It's weird in the '07 Fusion service manual it lists the option 3.5L under the engine category along with the I-4 and 3.0. Makes me think it will have a 3.5 sooner than sought to be. I kinda wish I would have bought the awd model too. SO, maybe if they do a 3.5L awd I will trade. Can't wait to find out what's up. I hear a turbo spooling from beneath the hood of mine if they decide to go for it.

You can believe that Ford is aware and monitoring sites like this. They're trying to bring back customers lost to rice burners. It's up to you to tell them what you wan't. Just in the last 3 years they've almost changed their entire line-up. If you have not seen it yet or heard of it Ford's EDGE cuv was just released. It's so bad ass, it's big enough to seat a family with all of the styling ques of a Fusion. I've been watching the lots for them and, I saw my first one on the lot today!!! 12/18/2006

I know guys that have driven the 3.5 and was not that impressed.
[/quote] It is now 12/19/2006 and today I was able to test drive the first EDGE of any dealership in the county. There is about a 1200 lb. differance between the EDGE and the Fusion. The 3.5 in the EDGE performed very well. It was not peppy as I've heard dealers refer to the Fusion 3.0. It was fast, although under hard acceleration the front end pulled to the right. Once the suspension has been adj. it will correct the problem. Anyway if you take the 3.5 powerplant and shoehorn it in to a fusion. It will be impressive!!

Just think, that 263 HP 3.5 would probably jump to around 280 HP if it was "tuned" and had a CAI. Now that, in a Fusion, would be nice! 8)

Drove one with the 3.5 today. I was not impressed with it. Passing acceleration was sluggish. It's a nice torquey motor out of the hole though. A salesman from the new car tower told me today that the Ford Rep. in there meeting said they are not going to do a two door Fusion, but SVT is going to be moving in.

How you did that? Can you make a new topic just for the reflashed?

Thanks
