Hi all. I don't usually do work on my own car more complicated than calipers or a radiator fan assembly replacement. But getting in to a mechanic where I live is WEEKS out.
Car has 97,000 miles
Details:
1) Error code P0012 (about a month ago)
2) Error code P0299 (today)
3) Car has brand new trouble shifting gears. It does fine if I put it in sport mode and paddle shift. It won't go from 4 to 5 hardly at all on its own. This did not occur at the same time as the check engine light.
4) Recently had to replace shifter cable (broke off and car wouldn't start. Had to get under the hood to manually flip it into park, etc.)
5) Faint rattle up front.
6) Car did not get a 70k tuneup at all.
