Got an issue and was hoping to get some advice.

The front driver's seat has 3 motors. forward/reverse, front up/down and rear up/down. It's the front up/down that just stopped working. When I use the switch I can hear the motor still working but the gear does not move. Is this a stripped motor assembly, the gear popped out or do I need a whole new track? Not sure where to go from here.

If it's the track, how hard is it to remove and replace?

So I ended up buying a track off if car-part.com. It took about 2 hours total to swap out the track. The motor or gears are shot and you can't just replace them. Note - I have the 8 way seat that has 3 motors on the the track.

In my 2007 Fusion SEL the drivers seat would not move forward/aft and would only move down. It is a 6 way. The part of the switch you see on the side of the seat is removable. It snaps off the main switch body. Under it are three rectangular sliders that are the actual switches. I removed and brushed off the switch then up/down worked. So I removed the back/forth rectangle, the center one (breaking it in the process), and used a very small pick to push the small levers that make the contacts. With that I got the seat to move back/forth. So I knew the switch was defective but the motor and screw were good. The blue lines in the photo point to the small "levers" that move to complete the circuit and move the seat forward or back. Above and below that are the switches that move the seat up/down. New switch ordered for $30.
