I heard a whisper today about the 3.5L being offered as an option on the 2008 Milan.

Hi Metallicat! I have seen no official confirmation of that rumor. My educated guess would be that the 3.5L would not be offered on the Milan in 2008. Too bad. In my opinion, it would certainly make for a great car! Same goes for the Fusion.

Good luck!

PS - Hope my educated guess is wrong, and they do make the 3.5L available.

Nope, nothing official, just rumors...or perhaps passing pipe dreams.

I can't see ford offering the 3.5 in the Milan and not the fusion.

Someone's saying just this at BON. It similarly makes no sense to me. L-M dealers already have a sedan with the 3.5, and the Ford dealers could do far more with the engine than L-M dealers can.

What I would like to see is some sort of a Perfomance version of the Fusion/Milan become available with a 3.5. Offer both a 6spd manual and a 6 speed autoshift transmission. Offer a sport tuned suspension and AWD. Offer a body/tire/wheel package to distinguish the car from other Fusion/Milans. This would be good marketing for Ford. 8)

I think the 3.5L will be for the Lincoln MKZ ( ? ) only, too bad.
I agree with Scape2, just not interested in an AWD model. Ford will be offering a Fusion Sport Package option, different springs ( lowered a little ? ), special 18 " wheels,
rear decklid spoiler, special interior, & the black chrome, & probably some other things I can't remember now. Sounds interesting, it's at least a start !!!

Well said, Scape2, but do you suppose it will happen for model year 2008? Maybe 2009?
