So the shocks/struts do actually have different PN's from the non-SA dampers? If so, then I'll be ordering those sometime soon, they're surprisingly cheap.

Yeah, no joke.

This is what I need:
1. 8E5Z-18124-R List $58.32 Inet $43.42 (right front)
2. 8E5Z-18124-L List $58.32 Inet $43.42 (left front)
3. 8E5Z-18125-A List $49.98 Inet $37.22 x 2
4. Sway bar with bushings (better not be more than 137 shipped for all the pieces)

Springs are surprisingly cheap too. Only comes out to 150-something for all four. I don't think I'll be trading though. I like the Eibachs a lot.

Now for questions:

1. Do you know who OE's these struts?

2. Are the shock PN's DIFFERENT THAN the 2006/7/8 Fusion without the Sport appearance package?

3. Regarding the rear sway bar - how thick is it in comparison to the Progress sway bar? If it's at least 24mm, then I will take it assuming the price is cheaper than 137 shipped with bushings. (since that's what the Progress sway bar will cost with shipping AND poly bushings).

TFP - do you have a price on that awesome lip spoiler too? Dealer quoted me $676 painted and installed, which is just about $376 above the "this is completely ludicrous" line.

8E5Z-5444210-AA List $468.23 Inet $348.65 (un-painted) 2008 style
7E5Z-5444210-AA List $383.33 Inet $285.43 (un-painted) 2006-2007 style

Both of these are the lip style, NOT the pedestal style with the HMSL

Yes these #'s are only for the 2008 Sport Appearence package, they have not come on any previous Fusion Package.

I have a request in to Ford to get the size of bar. But the List is $72.05 And the Inet is $53.65.

I also have a request in for the OE of the struts, but they hardly ever give that away.

Thanks a bunch. I realize I may not ever get the OE information and that's just fine as long as I know that Ford just might warranty them in an event that they wear out too early or something like that. This might be wishful thinking, but at least I would have thought enough to put an OE part that matches the spring ratio closer than the stocker dampers did.

Waiting on that info for the sway bar. Thank you very much TFP!!!!!!!!!!!

The sport pack has a 25mm front bar on the V6 and 24mm on the I4. The AWD Fusion and all MKZ already use this same 25mm front bar. The rear bar is 19mm on both sport packs, which is the same as a Mazda 6. (base bars are 24/16 on both I4 and V6).

The springs are about 10% stiffer front I4, 15% stiffer front V6. The rear springs are each about 20% stiffer. The shocks (stop calling them struts!) are just revalved OEM KYBs with a little more control. Everything else (including ride heights) is the same.

Well then, should I be under the assumption that the revalved OEM KYB shocks and struts are going to last longer than my current OEM KYB's and PERFORM better, or is this just wishful thinking at this point? I could feel a difference when driving the SAP fusion, but what percentage was shock and what percentage was sway bar?

I guess I only thought ride height was different with the 08 SAP - then again, that "ride height" could have been due to the fact that the wheels are bigger and the fender gap is less? I thought the 08 SAP dropped the ride by an inch?

The "15% stiffer" with the V6 makes sense why my Eibachs still outperformed on acceleration at WOT and at decel.

For the V6, the front sway bar is 25mm and 19mm at the rear - is this bigger than the OEM's on the non-AWD, non-SAP Fusion? Does the non-AWD/SAP fusion even HAVE a front sway bar?

If it matters, the reply from Ford is the rear bar is 19mm on the sport package.

OK, so the 08 SAP rear sway is 19mm - what is the stock size of the rear on the 06? I just want to see what my fifty-something bucks will get me.

With regard to the front, obviously since the P/N is different on the 3.0 from 06 to 07, am I to assume that they are different sway bars? If so, what is the difference in thickness, if any?

Psst, the stock sizes are right there in my post. The difference in 06 to 07 isn't a diameter change, it was a change to the packaging in the middle of the bar. Since the AWD required a slightly different shape, but that new shape worked fine with the FWD, Ford just figured they'd put the new part on everything. There's no performance difference between an 06 and 07 part, just that the 06 part won't work on an AWD.

Yeah Waldo - totally missed out on this part of your post. Thanks man.

19 vs 16 for 50-something bucks, or 26 vs 16 for 137. I think I'm going to go with the progress rear sway.

But those dampers are MINE!!!!
