It's been said that the fusion will and will not get the 3.5 for 2007. Does anyone know what it's gonna be for certain?!? :?

Fusion will NOT get the 3.5 in the near future, according to Ford. It will only be offered on the Zephyr.

I also heard that the 3.5 will only be offered in the zephyr to seperate the Zephyr from the Merc and the ford.

I think that the 3.5 is supposed to eventually replace the duratec altogether, but it'll take a while to ramp production up. I'd guess that the Fusion will be among the last to get the 3.5.

The 3.5 is a Duratec. Hell it isn't even really a new engine... just a modified version of the same engine that started life as a 2.5 in the Contour, is now 3.0, and will be 3.5.

Thanks for the info. I've been holding out since I heard about the new engine coming out. Now that I don't need to I have no more excuses not to get one. Thanks again guys.

I have seen the cutaway on the 3.5 and it is a brand new emgine from the ground up.
