I have a 2006 Ford Fusion and the transmission is shifting hard. The car runs fine, but the transmission is shifting hard. Any ideas what the issue might be?

Hi Critter and wlecome to the Ford Fusion Club. How long have you owned it? Which engine? How many miles on your Fusion? Have you checked the transmission fluid level, color and smell? When was the last time the transmission fluid was flushed/filled?

There are many possibilities, but the transmission fluid would be the place to start.
