That is ok i guess the "4 star" rating but i no ford could make it alot more safe i mean look at the five hundred.

I winder when I.I.H.S. will come out with there tests on the fusion?
This is the site i use for most of my research on saftey ratings just because i like the way they do there scoring (GOOD,ADVERAGE,MARGINAL,POOR).I also like to watch the video to
The Five Hundred is also a 4,000 lb behemouth. But yeah, with enough money any car could get a 5*
Hey Man, thx for the info... 8)
Let us know if u find out anything else.
P.S. I did'nt opt. for the side curtain bags. Who did?
Does anyone know how much the side airbag option is?

Now that i think about it i woudl feel better With 6 airbags..

The Five Hundred base model weighs 3664 pounds. The Fusion V6 weighs 3280. The difference in weight is significant, but let's not overstate it. If you adjust for the size of the car, they're proportional, so the safety rating is a matter of design, not extra metal per se.

The Five Hundred is also not much more expensive. Add the V6 and ABS to the Fusion SE to bring it up to the level of the Five Hundred SE, and the larger car is only $665 more. To quickly compare prices with the features you'd want, go to www.truedelta.com. I created this site because many people have inaccurate perceptions of the price differences between cars.

I didnt know it was an option till after I bought mine, so I didnt get it
It appears the side air bags are effective for the front seats but not the rear. safety ratings give a 5 star rating for the front seats in a side collision and 4 stars for the rear.

I did. Seemed like a small price to pay to maybe save your neck some day. Fow hat its worth, my insurance premium dropped $600 per year from the quoted rate when I gave the insurance co the VIN. Guess those ABS brakes and Side curtaijn air bags make a big difference!
