Signaling a new design direction for Ford Europe, this new MPV will make its debut at Frankfurt in September with sales starting in 2006. Originally shown as the SAV Concept this past March in Geneva this MPV - possibly being called the E-MAX - will be built upon the next generation Ford Mondeo platform. Styling and options will remain very close to the SAV Concept. The E-MAX will be a flexible two or three row seven seater (5+2). Ford decided upon the Modeo's platform in an effort to maintain car-like handling comparable to the Mazda6, Lincoln Zephyr and Ford Fusion. Engines include the 2.0 TDCi, 2.7 liter V6 diesel and 2.0 gasoline engines from Jaguar and possibly the 2.4 liter engine from the Volvo S40. The E-MAX will be built in Genk Belgium.
