The "tick" is not very loud and muted a bit. You need to lean down by the right front and listen in the wheel well-opening to hear it. Windows down, idling, noise is not audible from the cabin.

Some 2005-2007 Five Hundred, Freestyle, Montego and 2006 Fusion, Milan, Zephyr, and 2006-2007 Escape and Mariner vehicles built 1/17/2006 and later equipped with the 3.0L 4V Duratec engine with exhaust camshaft driven water pumps may exhibit a ticking noise from the left bank cylinder head with the engine at normal operating temperature.
ACTION:
Refer to the following Service Procedure to identify and resolve the engine ticking noise.
