Hey guys. I'm not a Fusion owner, but I will be helping one of my good friends build his up once his warranty period expires.

Whenever I build up a car with performance as a goal, I start with the drivetrain so that it doesn't break on me with higher power levels. I'm having some trouble finding information on these transmissions though. Does anyone have some links to tech articles reguarding this transmission?

Things I would like to know:
Typical safe horsepower limit for stock transmission
Stock torque converter size, STR, and stall characteristics
Weak points in the transmission
Higher gear ratio alternative
Availability of limited slip differential
Transmission "No-No"s (I.E. No WOT shifts into 5th)

If anyone could inform me about some of the above info, I would greatly appreciate it.

Awww man.. I think i got ripped off! I think they left the torque converter off my 5 speed! Grrrrrrrr

5 speed as in manual or as in Auto?

If you want a complete brake down on the Fusion, you will need good money to get a dealers service book. I belive there is about 5 volumes to the Fusion. I dont know, it could be more volumes or less then that. But I do know that they go for $120 a book. And the only place I know that has them is the Dealer or the Ford Corp. Not too sure, but I know for my Intrepid I got it from the Dodge Corp and it cost me about $580 for all 5 volumes. And these are the manuals that the dealers use to service the car or rebuild.
