Default 2013 Cabin Air Filter Location

Has anyone changed their cabin air filter on their 2013 model yet? If so, how do you get to it? I've read that the previous generation had the filter behind the glovebox (that's how my wife's Toyota is, as well as my old Toyota). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll agree with that one per the owner's manual, but it also says to take it to a dealership to have the filter serviced. I'm starting to contemplate ripping the whole passenger side of the dash apart, allergies are horrific this year and I'd like to swap in a new filter to ideally ease them a bit.

It seems everyone is heading that direction. I had a VW that recommended having the dealership replace the headlights. When I went to take care of it myself I learned why though, I had to take out the battery among other things to get access to the front left light.

Unfortunately you have to count on lowest common denominator, and there's quite a few less than intelligent folks out there that would screw things up, hurt the car (or themselves), and then try to sue Ford for it.

Here is a quick video of how to do it. I think that you should be able to lift the glove box door off without having to take the entire assembly out like the guy in the video did. My 2012 Fusion SEL is a 5 minute job. Remove tension wire so that the glove box drops all the way down when you squeeze in the side stops that prevent the glove box from flopping open to the floor. Lift the glove box out of the glove box frame and the filter should be accessible from there. I have not seen a break down of the parts, but it is only my speculation of how the glove box door comes off using my 2012 as a benchmark.

Wtf was ford thinking when they set this up. It take 2003min to change a cabin filter. The mustang is so much easier.
