Some more photos.

I actually like the red bezel. It needs some more red around the driver side, maybe bordering the instrument cluster, but otherwise looks hot!

I like it as well, although I think it would be better if the car was red itself.. I'm not sure if it's because of the angle or something else, but the red trim looks soft to the touch, like the top of the dash on the current Fusion.

I read somewhere that they are using the soft touch materials to give it more of a luxury feel

Picture 12 makes me laugh! A Magnaflow style exhaust tip bolted over the regular exhaust which is still VERY visible
Reminds me of a civic I saw at PepBoys with a Tanabe exhaust tip over the 1.5 inch tip.

Looks like ford is taking their time on this fusion. All the finish work Like the leather on the shifter and on the doors.  I believe on the first link the guy said in the sport model their will be a 3.5 V6.  I didn't like this fusion at first but I'll start saving my pennies now.

Looks good.  I still want to wait for the ecoboost models.

Anyone notice that Alan Mulally showed up in a 2010 Hybrid fusion yesterday for the hearings?

Wow!, Wow! Wow!  Ford is on the rise.  The new Fusion is awesome.  This is what I am talking about!  Ford is finally listening to the consumer.  All those import lovers are constantly saying Ford doesn't improve its products!  BS!  The new 2.5 is going to be a hot seller no doubt about it.  Styling is very well done.  Classy, sporty look.  I have an 06 SEL V6 loaded with all the goodies and I'm seriously thinking about trading mine in for the 2.5 in the SEL version!  Does anyone know when these start showing up on the dealers lots?

bbf, I just commented on this in the other thread about the '10 Fusion but probably should have put it here.  I see that the rear of the Fusion is much better looking than ours.  I love those taillights, but it looks like the bumper will obviously be different.  Do you or does anyone know if the rear body and trunk sizes will be identical to the 06-09, enabling me to just buy a rear bumper and set of rear taillights and swap 1-for-1?

Hi thereisnospoon. :wavey:  The sizes and cuts (at the fender/trunk lines) look to be the same.  I just downloaded a few shots of the 2010 rear end to compare them to the present models.  At least as far as could be seen in the pictures, all of the peripheral fender cut lines and trunk cut lines look the same.  Assuming that the bolt up and fastening points for the tail lights and bumpers are the same for the 2006 through 2009's and the new 2010's (they likely may be), it should be a relatively simple (but expensive swap).  I say expensive because by the time you buy two tail lights and a bumper, then have the bumper professionally painted, it will run a few bucks.

Thinking out loud now: Other than the cost, the only other possible "problem" I see (and it may not be a problem to you), is a styling consideration.  The character lines and indentations on the 2010 trunk lid are completely different than the 2006-2009 models.  If you look closely, on the 2010 the new character lines and indentations on the rear of the trunk lid match up and flow with the character lines and indentations in the new tail lights.  And while the 2006-2009 tail lights had smooth covers, the 2010 does not.  They have indentations and character lines that flow into and match those in the rear of the trunk lid.

From the rear of the 2010, the character lines almost resemble a wing that stretches across the trunk into the tail lights, the tips of the wing on each side being the clear/white back-up lights.  I am not too sure how the new tail lights will flow with the rear of the old trunk lid, which only has the large center indentation surrounding the license plate area (no wings).

Just take a close look at some pictures of the rear of a 2006-2009 and compare them to photos of the 2010 rear end.  Just be sure you can see the trunk/tail light character lines and indentations in both shots.  It may be something that many people will not notice or mind.  All just a matter of personal taste  See what you think.

Let us know what your thoughts are.

I would also recommend the following: Once the 2010's have arrived at your local Dealer, take a drive down in your Fusion and park right next to one.  Compare the cut lines on both cars.  Compare the attachment points of the fasteners.  Take a good look in person as to whether you think the modification is really worth it.  It is always hard to tell in pictures exactly how the lines of a car actually flow.  Besides, the parts would not even normally be available for purchase until sometime after the 2010's are on sale anyway, so you have some time.

  Good luck.

yeah, I'm definitely going to look at it and do a side-by-side comparison before I spend that kind of jack.  As it was for my car, I couldn't even get parts for it until 3 months after I ordered and took delivery of the car, so I know it'll be a while.  I've got a buddy in the paint and body industry, so the biggest issue to me would be the cost of the primed bumper and the two taillights.  I see exactly what you mean about the styling of the lights to run with the trim line of the trunk, but I didn't notice the actual indentations in the lights.

My buddy took a trip out to California and he went out to car show just to have something to do and there was a 2010 Fusion Sport there and he said it was an AWD. I didn't even know they were going to make that an AWD. Will they also make it in a FWD.

263hp isn't a sportscar niche really its actually still down on power for its class. Much more competitive though. They should add the ecoboost to the mkz shortly after they do so in the new mks and then in 2011/12 do so in the fusion (sooner the better though) if I upgrade it will be to a hybrid (which I really dig) or I'll wait for the ecoboosts.
