So I traded cars with my dad and got the short end of the stick. He handed me the keys to his '07 XC70 AWD (2.5T I5) while I gave him the keys to my '10 Fusion Sport :x and his XC70 is starting to get a little dull...

It's good fun for what it is but it's too heavy, the suspension is too soft, the engine doesn't have enough go power (208hp/240tq), the transmission isn't quick enough, yada yada...but it's under CPO warranty so I can't do too much. I just want a little pizazz to set it apart from the 4 billion other '02-'07 XC70's out there.

Currently it has 70/20 tint in the front/back. That's it. I think I'm gonna debadge it since it says "Cross Country" on the bottom center of the tailgate anyway and they all come with AWD standard. Not to mention there's not "2.5 T" badge and it'll look cleaner debadged.

But what else...idk any tidbits or adjustables or unlockable easter eggs in these things. His old '99 V70 GLT with the fabulous 2.4T I5 and shitty as hell GM 4-speed transmission, I knew a whole bunch but idk about the '07. I do have to say if you're going to buy a Volvo, the 2.4T is SOOOOOO MUCH MORE FUN than the sluggish, heavier, slower-revving 2.5T even though the 2.5T has about 41 more ft-lbs.

If you run an '02-'07 V70/XC/R, post up with something. I'm bored outta my mind with this thing!

YESSIR!! It was a lot of fun. Just turn off the TC, little right foot action, AWD kicks on, power through mud! Even on bald tires :chuckles: I wish I got it really dirty but this is good enough for the first time mudding :D

Can't tell too well in the pics but the front right tire is at the wear bars, front left is almost on them, and rears are coming up to them. There would be more even wear but one of the rears has a radial pull so we never rotate them otherwise you get a nice pull to one side. Gotta love Pirelli tires!

Here's a few select shots, the rest are on my flickr page which you can find here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/74828220@N04/

He didnt take it, I left it in the garage and told him to drive my car twice a week haha then I took his keys and told him I'd take good care of the Volvo

I was in Malibu on Saturday and fund more mud...the fog lights and bumper are the same color now haha I turned it brown from the mirrors down :p I'm very proud of myself lol there was so much mud flinging everywhere!

New tires tomorrow! :woohoo: finally get rid of these shitty stock Pirelli Scorpion ST-R shits!
Let me give you some info on them!
Traction rating: Hopes
Temp rating: Dreams
Treadwear: Granite
Don't know how or why they lasted so freaking long.
Gonna put some Yokohama AVID ENVigors on it. Hopefully they can take a turn and don't spin for an hour after hitting one puddle.

Aside from new tires and an alignment, the front brake pads were gone so I got those replaced. Then the guy at Volvo saw my PCV hose was sheared in half (Volvo decided to make it out of plastic) so I got a new one of those (made out of rubber) with no charge installation, saved like $180, and my supposedly $700 trip turned into $1,068.81. At least it was maintenance and not stupidity!

I have to say that the guys on the Volvo forum are idiots.
